Grants

A chief purpose of the foundation is grantmaking, and AF generally awards grants to organizations that conduct, have in place, or wish to commence projects or programs that align with the foundation’s mission statement. That such projects or programs comply with our mission must be demonstrated by the prospective grantee and accepted by the board.

Grants may be paid out in full or in installments, based upon an arrangement between the foundation and the grantee. In the past, a typical AF grant has been a one-year award not exceeding $50,000.

Grants are awarded to nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations as determined by the United States Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). The foundation does not: make pass through grants; purchase tickets or otherwise provide funding for benefits; accept solicitation from regular development campaigns; or provide funding for memorials.

To receive an AF Letter of Intent Form (as outlined in our guidelines), please email info@arington.org.

In your email you must include (a) enough information so that the foundation can determine whether your organization might qualify for funding, and (b) how you learned about the Arington Foundation.  Please note that not all emails will receive a response.  If you do not receive a response, then the foundation has deemed that your organization/project exists outside the scope of AF's mission and/or vision.
